Overview #

This guide turns the vendor data you already have, such as a spreadsheet or an export from your ERP system, into a supply list that ScopeMatch validates and analyzes. At the end, you will see your single-sourced products, bottleneck vendors and country concentration in Network Analysis.

Start small with one product category. You can add more lists once the first one is working for you.

Before You Start #

  • Pick one product category. Distributors: a top-selling item that drives revenue. Plant owners: items critical to keeping operations running.
  • Export your vendor data for that category from your ERP system or purchasing records: the vendors you bought from in the last 3 to 5 years, the products, and the locations they ship from.
  • Check your plan. Free includes 1 list with up to 10 vendors, Basic 5 lists with up to 50 vendors each, and Pro and Premium unlimited lists.

Steps #

Step 1: Create a supply list #

Go to Product Supply and select Add List. Enter a descriptive name, the type of suppliers, a review date and a short description, then submit. Group lists by product type, project or customer so they are easy to analyze later.

Step 2: Add your products #

In the list’s Products view, add products one by one (category, then specifications), use Bulk Upload for a CSV or Excel file, or use Import with AI to read your export.

Step 3: Add your vendors #

In the Vendors view, select Add Vendor and start typing the vendor name.

  • If the vendor has a ScopeMatch profile, its locations appear automatically. If you enter a new location, the vendor is asked to confirm it.
  • If the vendor is not listed, add their company. They can claim the profile later.
  • Link each vendor to the products they supply.

Step 4: Check the validation #

ScopeMatch cross-checks each row with the vendor’s profile and shows two validation values: product and location. Hover over them to see what is confirmed. Invite vendors without a profile; completing one takes less than 10 minutes.

Step 5: Analyze your network #

Open Network Analysis, select your list and apply the filter. Review single-sourced products, bottleneck vendors, products without a vendor, and where your vendors and products come from. Free and Basic show a preview; Pro and Premium show the full analysis and add Network Atlas.

Step 6: Keep it current #

Update the list when you change suppliers, and check it on its review date. When vendors update their own profiles, the validation in your list follows.

Tips #

  • Use the vendor names exactly as they appear in ScopeMatch to avoid duplicates.
  • Invite your most important vendors first; validated data makes the analysis more reliable.
  • Repeat the guide for your next category once the first list is complete.

What’s Next #

  • Search Request: find alternative vendors for single-sourced products.
  • Sourcing Helper: compare sourcing countries before you search.
  • Disruption Simulation (Premium): test what happens if you lose a vendor or country.
