Overview #
This guide helps you find out what would happen if a vendor, a country or a route stopped working, before it happens, and turn the results into a plan.
Before You Start #
- Complete supply lists with vendors, locations and products. See Map Your Supply Chain.
- Network Atlas is included on Pro and Premium. Supply Chain Insights and Disruption Simulation are included on Premium.
Steps #
Step 1: Check your data #
Make sure each list has its vendors, their locations and the products they supply. Missing data hides risk.
Step 2: Review your exposure #
Open Supply Chain Insights and review products with limited or risky sourcing, catalog items without an active vendor, and where your products and vendors come from.
Learn more: Supply Chain Insights
Step 3: Run a Disruption Simulation #
Simulate losing a key vendor, a country, or a country your suppliers source from. See which products would be at risk and which you could lose access to entirely.
Learn more: Disruption Simulation
Step 4: Test routes and demand in Network Atlas #
Use the what-if modes: break a connection, mark a route as strained, or raise or lower demand to see where stock-out or overstock risk appears. These modes only change what you see, not your data.

Step 5: Download the report #
Open the Network Atlas report for a summary, recommended actions and the product risk landscape, and download it as a PDF to share with your team.
Step 6: Act on the results #
- Add alternative vendors for the products you would lose. See Find and Fix Single-Source Risk.
- Agree on buffer stock for critical products with your suppliers.
- Plan which vendors to evaluate or re-evaluate first.
Step 7: Repeat regularly #
Run the test again each quarter, and when news in Recent News points to a new risk in one of your sourcing countries.

Tips #
- Test several scenarios, not just the most obvious one.
- Start with your bottleneck vendors and your most concentrated countries.
- A what-if shows exposure, not a forecast; use it to set priorities.
